2010 is our Diamond Jubilee Year.  It is hard to believe that The Worldhams WI has been meeting every month for the last 60 years.   Some special events are planned for later in the year to celebrate this special year.

Worldham WI continued it’s 60th Birthday celebrations with a BQ in the village hall. Guests included Joyce Bone and Elsie Hennan who were among the first members, as well as a number of other past members.

The village hall looked impressive with its green and white balloons floating up from each table. Current members provided food in splendid variety and generous quantity, supported by Mike Walker, Anton Mitchel, Jogn Denyer and Ferris Whidborne who did a great job at the BBQ.

A welcoming glass of wine had already set the patern and by the time 60 or so folk sat down to eat, the atmosphere was relaxed and conversation bubbled throughout the mea. 9 o’clock came and went and it was not until well after 10 that folk began to take their leave.

The Worldham WI belong to the National and Hampshire Federation of the WI.

The meetings are varied. Some are educational, and some are more for entertainment. We try to make each evening a social occasion. Please see the event calender for exact details etc.

The WI meet on the 3rd Tuesday of every month except August and December. Meetings are held  in East Worldham Village Hall at 7.45pm unless other wise stated. We welcome visitors.
